AEG, EERI, and ASCE-GI are providing a short course on the updates to the 2019 California Building Code. The focus of the event will be on practicing geoscience professionals including geotechnical engineers, engineering geologists, and related fields. Instructors from California Geological Survey (CGS), Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD), and Dr. Zia Zafir PE, GE will provide an overview and detailed instruction.

-Updates to Seismic Provisions (ASCE 7-16 / 2019 CBC)

-Structural Engineering Perspective on Update Effects

-Advanced Issues including development of site specific ground motions and time histories for design (overview)
